Head of School Receives Marquette University Alumni Award
Dr. Solsrud earned a doctoral degree in educational policy and leadership from Marquette University in 2003. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Marquette in 1973.
Brookfield Academy's head of school since 1993, Solsrud was recognized for his skilled leadership and vision in ensuring educational success for Brookfield Academy's 805 preschool through high school students. In addition, he led the largest capital campaign in BA history, providing the means to build Patriots Hall, a new Upper School, and make campus-wide improvements.
As a member of the Brookfield Academy faculty for 39 years, Solsrud also has taught, coached, and been athletic director. He has developed a zealous commitment to independent education, which he says, "provides the freedom to define a mission and pursue it with unbridled energy and enthusiasm."

National Latin Exam Garners 79 Awards
Latin is a required subject for Brookfield Academy sixth and seventh graders. Opportunities to continue the language study are offered in eighth grade and throughout the high school curriculum, culminating in Advanced Placement Latin.
Many Brookfield Academy students enjoy participating in activities of the school’s Latin Club and The Wisconsin Junior Classical League.
