Join us for this unique opportunity to hear from Ms. Mary Anastasia O'Grady. As a prominent journalist covering global politics, she offers tremendous perspective on the value of freedom. During her talk, Ms. O'Grady will share specific insight into The Problems with Socialism in Latin America.
Ms. O'Grady writes The Americas, a column on politics, economics, and business in Latin America and Canada that appears every Monday in The Wall Street Journal. She's been a member of the paper's editorial board since 2005 and has won numerous awards including:
- the Walter Judd Freedom Award from The Fund for American Studies in 2012,
- the Thomas Jefferson Award from The Association of Private Enterprise Education in 2009,
- in 2005, the Bastiat Prize for Journalism awarded by the International Policy Network for her articles on the World Bank, the underground economy in Brazil, and the bad economic advice the U.S. often gives Latin American countries.
